Privacy notice
Last updated August 2026
This notice explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who is responsible
Carla le Roux, Cape Town, South Africa. The Information Officer is Carla le Roux, contactable at hello@carlaleroux.com.
What is collected
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, email address, optionally your organisation, what your enquiry is about, your message, and any times you suggest for a conversation.
The site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. A single value is stored in your browser's local storage to remember that you dismissed the privacy notice. It never leaves your device.
Why it is collected
To reply to you. That's the whole purpose. Your details are not sold, not shared with third parties for their own purposes, and not added to any mailing list without you asking to be on one.
Who processes it
Form submissions are delivered by FormSubmit, which forwards the message to my email inbox. Email is hosted by Google (Gmail). Both process the data on my behalf in order to deliver and store the message.
How long it is kept
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to the working relationship, and no longer than three years after our last contact unless we have an ongoing engagement or I am required to keep it for longer.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask me to:
- confirm what personal information I hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it, where I have no lawful reason to keep it.
Email hello@carlaleroux.com and I will action it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Changes
If this notice changes – in particular if analytics are ever added, which would require your consent first – the updated date above will change with it.
